Just seen this fantastic woman; a superb concert in a superb place, Paradiso. I don’t know what it is about her, but she spreads so much energy with her music…This is a recording of yesterday. Especially watch her playing with her Akai drumcomputer after a minute or so.

Melody Gardot – Les étoiles

Fred Hersch is such a very fantastic pianist! Love to listen to his new solo album ‘Alone at the Vanguard’ on the luisterpaal of radio 6 soooo much. Fits so beautifully to these long spring-evenings…

Another concert I saw a little while ago and haven’t reported about yet, although it was very beautifull;  Gerald Clayton.

Don’t forget to watch Joe Sanders on bass carefully, he is doing some  nice things…

Robert Glasper & J Dilla/Jay Dee

Went to see Robert Glasper and the experiment (Casey Benjamin: sax, vocoder, Derrick Hodge: bas, Chris Dave: drums) last sunday in Rotterdam. Some parts were cool and very funky, others were not so great…Hereby a little movie of their show in Paris, to get an idea…

Robert Glasper was talking about J Dilla/ JayDee a lot. He was a genius beatmaker, so hereby a little tribute film:

Although the clip is tiny bit disturbing (could be me, but Dan seems to have delusions of some sort) the music I like!
